Water conservation campaign and No bottled water efforts

The exaggerated consumption of bottled water in our society is causing many environmental, social and health problems. In this campaign we educate and work to move beyond the water bottled vending machine and use reusable bottles.
We also educate on the importance of water a a resource for every aspect of our lives, water scarcity in the present and the near future and things we can do to prevent it.

Energy conservation Campaign

The UPR consumes large amounts of electricity, contributing to climate change and affecting the university's budget. The campaign investigates the energy consumed in college, works on proposals for the management on cost effective methods to save energy and educates students to be responsible with the use of the same resource.
In this campaign we urge people to:
Turn off the lights when leaving an empty classroom or office
Close the doors to rooms and halls with air conditioning to maintain its balance and temperature
Do not open the windows in rooms with air conditioning
Telling their faculties and departments that they wish to study in a green campus

Clean beaches campaign

Usually performed during the summer, when our beaches are most affected by trash thrown from visitors, this campaign works with education the public on the importance on maintaining clean and healthy beaches.
We organize beach cleanups and during festivities we hand out trash bags and educate beach goers on taking their trash with them or leaving it only in a trash can.
